In a significant step towards strengthening the voice of India’s driving community, Balwant Singh Bhullar, Founder & Chairman of Highway Hero Trust, recently met Shri Vijender Gupta, Hon’ble Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, along with IAS officer Shri Ranjit Singh, Secretary of the Legislative Assembly.
This meeting reflects Highway Hero Trust’s continued commitment to advocating for the rights, dignity, and welfare of drivers across the nation.
Driving the Conversation on Welfare
Led by Balwant Singh Bhullar, the discussion focused on key challenges faced by drivers, including the lack of structured welfare systems, financial insecurity, and the need for institutional support.
A major highlight of the conversation was the proposal for the creation of a Drivers Welfare Board — a long-standing demand that aims to bring organized support, policy backing, and recognition to millions of drivers in India.
The leadership showed encouraging interest in the initiative, marking a positive step towards meaningful policy-level action.
Leadership with Purpose
Under the leadership of Balwant Singh Bhullar, Highway Hero Trust has been consistently working at the grassroots level to support drivers through awareness, recognition, and community-driven initiatives.
This meeting is a reflection of that larger vision — taking the concerns of drivers from the ground to decision-making tables.
